I’m a Mother

May 22, 2013

And I am very happy and I don’t have any regrets. Having a child certainly changes you. It nurtured my well-being and filled me with compassion. It’s a whole different kind of responsibility to have someone depend on you, making me truthfully scared but happy and whole at the same time. Aiden is a part of me, essential to my happiness.

The last few weeks have been filled with family outings and get togethers and I especially enjoyed their company! It’s been 2 years since I had my parents visit us here and was mostly happy when we were complete. My father joined us for a short 5-day stop over from his trip to South America. He left last Sunday and my mother (together with my brother and niece) will leave next Saturday.

Goodbyes are bittersweet. Happy to have seen them but especially hard since “see you soon” is absolutely uncertain.

An Absence

May 3, 2013

Lack of posts is an understatement, more like hiatus/MIA. So much has happened since the last time I was active here in my blog and although it’s heart-breaking and heart-warming at the same time, I am still here and still grateful. Everyday is a miracle, isn’t it?

For now, I’ll leave you with photos from our recent trip to Vegas with my family and friend, Peggy to celebrate my birthday!

Lots of love!

Santa Barbara Zoo

July 23, 2012

It was Aiden’s first trip to the zoo and boy did he have a blast. He saw all the animals that he only saw through his books and videos. It was relatively small compared to the LA Zoo but it was not crowded which was great.  It took us almost 2 hours to stroll around the zoo and we rode the Zoo train which made my little train fanatic’s day.

Here are a couple of pictures taken yesterday in celebration of Independence Day.

Step It Up

July 1, 2012

I think you all know by now that I’m a “ballet flats” girl the moment I became a mom. I used to compromise comfort over style, but not when I have a toddler who’s a wee bit active. I went ballet flats crazy a month ago after my husband gave me a “go-signal” to replace my sandals he accidentally stepped on while I was wearing it and the straps snapped. A great excuse to get a new pair (or two!), I tell you that! *wink*

I usually order a few pairs in different sizes and colors so I can choose which fits and looks better.
