Life. Love.

February 13, 2012

Going to an all-girls high school, I used to dread Valentine’s Day. All the hype surrounding this holiday makes me gag while my classmates went all gaga about it. Okay, I guess not having a significant other was much to blame for my lack of enthusiasm so you can’t blame me. When I met my husband (ex-boyfriend) in college, I was still not into the whole mushy, lovey dovey holiday but I have to admit, receiving a bouquet of flowers ain’t so bad. I do feel that love should be celebrated every day and I appreciate random and spontaneous acts of love and kindness every once in awhile rather than on the 14th day of February. And I have to say, I am very lucky in that department.  My husband is everything I ever hoped for as a partner in life. We’ve been together since 1998 (that makes 14 years this August) and married for almost 5 years in March. He’s a part of me for almost half of my existence and I honestly don’t know what I would do without him.

To my husband, the love of my life, I love you more every day. You are my answered prayer.
